Latest Poll Shows No Guarantee Of Majority Gov't Even With Snap Election

ISRAEL

The latest opinion poll from Panels Politics shows that should no party leader prove able to put together a majority coalition gov't, there is no guarantee that a snap election (in what would be the fifth in three years) would deliver a stable majority.

  • Panels Politics seat projection: Likud (Conservative): 29 (-1), Yesh Atid (Liberal): 21 (+4), Yamina (Right): 10 (+3), Shas (Haredi, Right): 9, B&W (Centrist): 7 (-1), Labor (Centre-Left): 7, United Torah Judaism (Haredi, Right): 7, Yisrael Beiteinu (Right): 6 (-1), Religious Zionist (Far-Right): 5 (-1), Joint List (Arab interest, Left): 5 (-1), New Hope (Right): 5 (-1), Meretz (Green, Centre-Left): 5 (-1), Ra'am (Islamist): 4. +/- vs. 2021 election. Fieldwork: 06/04/21. Sample Size: 516
  • While the small sample size gives a wide margin for error, the fact that the pro-Netanyahu bloc of parties (Likud, Shas, UTJ, RZ) with the support of Yamina would secure 60 seats, one short of a majority in the 120-member Knesset, shows how fine the margins between a majority gov't and a truly hung parliament are likely to remain in the coming months.
