POLAND
  • Lawmakers will today discuss court legislation that could help Poland secure access to EU recovery funds, while President Andrzej Duda will speak on the matter at 1115CET/1015GMT. The ruling Law and Justice's junior coalition partner Solidarna Polska said it will not support the deal with Brussels to partially unwind controversial reforms of the judiciary in exchange for the release of funding, which means that the fate of the crucial bill depends on the opposition. Rzeczpospolita cited legal experts who raised concerns over the legislation, which might potentially prolong the debate in parliament.
  • NBP hawk Przemyslaw Litwiniuk told Parkiet that monetary policy should be tightened further, which would ensure faster return to the inflation target.
