Libya Conflict Results in Inconsistent Output since 2011

Conflict in Libya since 2011 civil war has resulted in inconsistent crude oil production according to EIA on Friday.

  • In April 2022, protesters across the country began to blockade several major ports and oil fields in Libya, causing production to fall to around 0.5mbpd by July 2022.
  • At the start of Aug 2022, production had returned back up to 1.2mbpd according to the Libya Oil Minister.
