Libya's Production Back at 1.2mn bpd

Libya’s Nation Oil Corp. announced via social media over the weekend that the countries oil production was running at 1.2mn bpd, the same pace as pre-blockade levels.

  • "We are happy to announce that our production rates have reached the pre-force majeure levels" of 1.2 million barrels per day, NOC said on Twitter.
  • NOC’s new oil chief lifted force majeure on all the country’s oil fields and terminals July 15, ending a blockade that has been ongoing since mid-April.
  • Libya’s oil production fell to around 350,000 - 400,000 bpd during the mid-April to mid-July blockade.
