Light Pressure As Waller Notes Potential For 50bp Rate Hike In March

US TSYS

Tsys slip as Fed Governor Waller points to the potential for a 50bp hike in March, if the data facilitates the need for such a move. He also echoes St. Louis Fed President Bullard (who he worked under before becoming a Governor), calling for 100bp of tightening by mid-year. TYH2 trades as low as 126-08+, before moving back to 126-12+ last, -0-02+ on the day. Cash Tsys run unchanged to 2bp cheaper on the day, with the front end leading the cheapening, aided by Waller’s comments.
