STOCKS: Limited liquidity was noted across the Asia-Pacific region today, with
Japan & China closed for business.
- In terms of the open markets, the major indices initially benefitted from
optimistic rhetoric from both U.S. President Trump & his Chinese counterpart Xi
noted over the weekend re: trade. The bid in the ASX 200 waned into the early
close, with the index closing 0.1% lower.
- The Hang Seng also experienced a shortened trading session, closing 1.3%
higher.
- U.S. equity index futures hit highs early in the session, and trade just shy
of best levels; S&P 500 (+15) DJIA (+165) NASDAQ 100 (+52).
