RENEWABLES: Litgrid Connect Enfit's 80MW Kelme I Wind Farm

 Litgrid has connected Enfit Green’s 80MW Kelme I wind farm in western Lithuania to the domestic transmission network, with pilot electricity production underway, it said.

  • The wind farm has started operations, with 11 out of 14 turbines running at full capacity and the remaining three are set to follow soon.
  • The total permitted generation capacity of solar and wind power plants in Lithuania now exceeds 3.8GW, accounting for over half of the country’s electricity generation capacity.
  • By 2030, Lithuania plans to connect around 10GW of renewables to the grid through growing consumption and exports.
