LNG at Sea for 20 Days Falls Back to Top of Five Year Range

The total estimated quantity of LNG on tankers that have not unloaded for at least 20 days fell by 7.7% over the last week to 3.45m tons as of May 19, according to Bloomberg estimates.

  • Volumes at sea have pulled back to near the top of the previous five year range but are still above the five-year average of 2.37m tons and 2.69m tons seen this time last year.
  • The estimated volume of LNG on tankers that have not unloaded for at least 30 days also decreased to 1.44m tons in the week compared to 1.54m tons a week earlier.
