LNG: Global LNG Imports and Supply Edge Higher in Week to Nov. 24: BNEF

Global LNG imports rose 3% in the week to Nov. 24 to 7.63m metric tons driven by higher imports to India, South Korea and mainland China but partially offset by a drop in deliveries to Japan and Southeast Asia, according to BNEF.

  • India imports jumped by 0.56m tons, South Korea imports rose 0.19m tons and to mainland China increased 0.27m tons.
  • Deliveries to Japan fell 0.44m tons on the week while Southeast Asia deliveries fell 0.17m tons w/w.
  • Imports to Europe were relatively unchanged with a small decrease to Northwest Europe and Italy offset by a rise to Other Europe.
  • Global LNG supply rose by 1% on the week to 8.02m tons.
  • An increase in supply from Qatar of 0.42m tons and the US of 0.21m tons was set against declines of 0.17m tons from Australia and 0.15m tons from Malaysia.
