Malaysia’s 30-day moving average of LNG exports rose to its highest since late-July on Sep. 15, according to Bloomberg.

  • Daily exports were averaging 65,804 mt over the last 30 days to Sep. 15, the highest since July 31.
  • Nonetheless, exports remain down 7% compared to the same period in 2023.
  • Malaysia’s LNG loadings have been disrupted by issues at Petronas’ 30m mtpa Bintulu LNG. There was scheduled maintenance on train 7, while trains 4, 8, and 9 underwent unscheduled maintenance in August.
  • This created a backlog of tankers awaiting loading in September.
