Venture Global is set to start producing LNG from the Plaquemines LNG facility in Louisiana within days, according to the FT cited by Bloomberg.

  • The start follows this week receiving key regulatory approvals required.
  • LNG vessel Venture Bayou has docked at the export plant after LSEG tanker tracking showed the vessel near the facility since October.
  • Venture Global has sold LNG through a short-term strip offered earlier in 2024 for a total of 4-5 cargoes per month on a FOB and DES basis, sources told Platts, affirming expectation of startup shortly.
  • Plaquemines LNG will be the eighth export terminal in the US and is expected to have an export capacity of at least 20mtpa.
  • Feedgas supply to the terminal is still near zero according to Bloomberg.
