LNG: Sakhalin 2 LNG Increased Spot Sales to China

Russia's Sakhalin 2 LNG facility has significantly increased spot sales to China but with long term supplies still to Japan, according to Reuters citing Interfax.

  • "We have increased supply of spot shipments to China. We maintain all our long-term contracts, so we continue to supply the bulk of our volumes to Japan," said commercial director Andrei Okhotkin.
  • Sakhalin 2LNG production is expected to decline to 9.6m metric tons in 2024 from 10.4m in 2023, according to the local administration.
