LNG: Texas LNG Closer to FID After HOA Deal

LNG export developer Glenfarne announced a preliminary heads of agreement with an undisclosed global LNG player from its planned Texas LNG project, according to a company statement cited by Bloomberg. 

  • This new agreement follows previous deals with EQT, Gunvor and Macquarie Group.
  • Texas LNG has now secured enough customer commitments to move forward with project to be close to FID according to Pipeline & Gas Journal.
  • The 4mtpa project, located in the Port of Brownsville, aims to be the lowest-emitting LNG facility in the U.S.
  • The project is one of two LNG sites that had key permits withdrawn requiring further analysis by FERC after a circuit court ruling last month.
