LNG: US LNG Export Cargoes Rose to 26 in Week to Oct. 9

The number of US LNG export cargoes rose to 26 in the week to Oct. 9 from 25 cargoes the previous week, according to the EIA.

  • Total capacity of the vessels was up to 96bcf compared to 94bcf last week based on Bloomberg data.
  • Average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals increased 0.3bcf/d to 12.7bcf/d, according to S&P Global Commodity Insights.
  • Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana rose by 5.4% (0.4bcf/d) to 8.0bcf/d while deliveries to South Texas fell 3.5% (0.2bcf/d) to 4.3bcf/d.
  • US LNG export terminal feedgas supply is back up to 12.46bcf/d today, BNEF shows, after a brief drop of about 0.7bcf/d in Sabine Pass feedgas yesterday. Cove Point is showing a small increase in supply with the end of maintenance expected shortly.
  • Asia remains the slight premium market for US LNG until at least April 2025, according to BNEF. For November delivery, profitability of US LNG exports to Asia is $9.74/mmbtu and to Europe is $9.60/mmbtu.
