Friday put a halt to the run of consecutive lower daily closes, even if the rate
only closed one pip higher. However, the downtrend is entrenched, with the rate
on the back foot early this week. Bulls need a move back above 0.69 to recover
some composure and set their sights higher. Meanwhile, bears increasingly focus
on the YTD/flash crash low seen back in January at 0.6741, below which markets
are charting the worst levels since 2009.
