Lower EU LNG Imports but Still Above Normal

LNG imports into NW Europe has fallen back from the record highs seen in April but remain well above normal levels for the time of year.

  • In April average daily imports into NW Europe were 235k mt but over the last week have averaged 147k mt. The 5-year average of daily imports for this time of year is 95k mt.
  • Supply is expected to remain strong with 12 LNG tankers expected into Europe in over the next week
  • Although market spreads have narrowed they still encourage flows into Europe with the JKM-TTF spread at -2.45$/mmbtu. The US netback to Europe is 15.54$/mmbtu for July and to Asia is 13.04$/mmbtu.
