LPRs Set To Fix Unchanged

CHINA

All of those surveyed by BBG expect the PBoC 1-Year & 5-Year LPRs to fix at unchanged levels later today, at 3.85% & 4.65% respectively.

  • This comes on the back of the stagnant picture in the PBoC rates space in recent months, while central bank and broader policymaker communique has played down the prospect of any broad monetary easing. The Bank is set to continue to provide targeted measures in the months ahead, with a focus on liquidity provisions and support for the real economy. China's economic recovery since the wide shutdowns that were triggered by the COVID-19 outbreak have made such an approach possible.
