Lukoil’s ISAB Refinery In Italy Has Been Sold To GOI Energy

Lukoil’s ISAB refinery on the island of Sicily has been sold to GOI Energy after fulfilling the conditions required, including obtaining the necessary approvals from the Italian authorities, Lukoil said.,

  • The plant, with a refining capacity of 320kbpd, has been put under trusteeship by the Italian government, after it was under threat due to the European embargo on Russian seaborne oil that came into effect on 5 Dec.
  • Lukoil in January reached a preliminary deal to sell the refinery to GOI Energy with backing from Trafigura.
  • Trafigura will supply the refinery with crude oil and take its fuel, the company said in January.
  • The Italian cabinet as scheduled to meet in late March to decide whether use approve the takeover deal.
