Lula Administration To Announce New Infrastructure Investment Package

  • The Lula government is preparing to announce a new investment package in infrastructure areas.
    • The forecast for the launch is the second half of June. The focus of the projects are railroads, highways, airports and ports and the construction of Minha Casa Minha Vida units. The action is being led by the Civil House, together with the Institutional Relations portfolio of the Planalto Palace. (Globo)
  • Separately, Brazil expects to collect 3 billion reais by resuming collection of federal taxes on diesel earlier than scheduled, according to the Finance Ministry’s press office. (BBG)
  • 1.5 billion reais to be used to fund stimulus measures for the auto sector and the other half of the revenue being used to reduce this year’s fiscal deficit.
