Lyondell Basell has completed the final shutdown of its 236,776 bpd Houston refinery according to a handful of reports in recent days.

  • The shutdown has previously been announced but was slightly delayed by cold weather. The process began on Jan 27.
  • The Lyondell plant is the first of two U.S. refineries planned for closure this year. Phillips 66 said in October it will shutter its Los Angeles refinery by the end of 2025.
