Malaysia LNG Tiga Defers LNG Cargoes: Platts

LNG

Petronas has asked some lifters of LNG from Malaysia’s LNG Tiga to defer some loadings from the Bintulu terminal in August by more than a week, sources told Platts.

  • Other lifters from LNG Tiga also received requests to defer cargo loadings by several days.
  • The reason for the delay was a glitch in the heat exchanger, affecting at least one train at LNG Tiga, which has train 7 and train 8.
  • Train 7 & 8 export around 84-88 cargoes per year combined, most going to Japanese lifters.
  • While Asia has been experiencing a heatwave, JKM prices have actually fallen due to muted spot demand. JKM was $12.772 Aug. 5.
  • Malaysia LNG Tiga represents two trains at the 9 train Petronas LNG Complex in Bintulu. The whole complex has a capacity of around 30m mtpa.
