March Budget Balance Data Due

  • Foreign Minister Murillo met with his Colombian counterpart in Bogota on Friday, after which a joint statement was issued valuing the bilateral relationship between the two countries, after a short-lived standoff between Presidents Milei and Petro recently. Murillo highlighted the return of the Colombian ambassador in Buenos Aires and noted the discussions on trade, defence and regional integration which took place at the meeting.
  • On the data front, March budget balance data will be released later today. Local media are reporting that President Milei will announce a fiscal surplus last month, in a televised address at 0100BST (2000ET). After that, attention will turn to tomorrow’s February economic activity data which are expected to show a 6% y/y contraction in output.
