Marginally Pressured On Friday

The Kiwi is marginally pressured on Friday, NZD/USD is down ~0.2% last printing at $0.6165/70.

  • Weaker regional equities and a bid in USD/JPY which has firmed off session lows has boosted the USD in Asia. NZD/USD has breached yesterday's low.
  • Bears now target a break of the low from 24 July ($0.6156), which opens low from June 29 ($0.6051) and year to date lows ($0.5985.)
  • AUD/NZD is a touch lower however it remains in the $1.08/09 range which has persisted for the most part in recent dealing.
  • Cross asset wise the Hang Seng is down ~0.8% and BBDXY is up ~0.05%. US Tsy Yields are a touch lower across the curve.
  • Wider swings in risk sentiment will be the main driver in NZD today.
