  • Bolsonaro used the event to speak to his audience from sound trucks. Valor has reported he attacked left-wing politicians, citing foreign governments, and his main opponent in the presidential race, former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Mr. Bolsonaro said that “these guys must be eliminated from public life,” in reference to the left.
    • In another reference to the PT, the President said, “I swear a lot, but I’m not a thief.” And despite recent scandals, argued one more time that there is no corruption in his administration. He asked his followers not to try and “convert any leftist,” whom Mr. Bolsonaro called “empty-headed people who have nothing to wish for.” (Valor International)
