Mexican Crude Production Rose in April

OIL

Mexico's Pemex increased its oil production to an average of 1.904 million bpd in April from 1.878 million in March according to Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.

  • Pemex has struggled to keep its output stable due to aging oil fields and infrastructure.
  • US imports of Mexican crude oil, which have been stable this year, may taper off after Pemex raised prices for the oil it sells to its customers.
  • Jan.-April Mexico exported ~680k b/d crude to US, up from average of 661k b/d last year, according to Kpler.
