Mexico and Chile CPI Kicks Off Busy Data Schedule

  • Large amount of LatAm data to start the day before the US employment figures:
  • Mexico: National statistics agency Inegi to publish September consumer prices report at 1200BST/0700ET.
    • Sept. CPI M/m, est. 0.67%, prior 0.70%
    • Sept. CPI Y/y, est. 8.75%, prior 8.70%
    • Sept. CPI Core M/m, est. 0.73%, prior 0.80%
    • Sept. CPI Core Y/y, est. 8.34%, prior 8.05%
  • Additionally, Chile will release September inflation readings at the same time:
    • CPI M/m est. 0.9%, prior 1.2%; Y/y est. 13.8%, prior 14.1%
  • Following the data, Chile will release Trade Balance and reserves data at 1230BST/0730ET and this will be followed by Brazil retail sales for August at 1300BST/0800ET.
