Mexico Pacific Inks LNG Supply Deal With Exxon

Mexico Pacific will supply an additional 1.2mtpa of LNG to Exxon Mobil for the duration of 20 years, the firm said, cited by Reuters.

  • The deal should clear the way for the final investment decision to expand the firm’s Saguaro Energia LNG facility with a third LNG train that plans to ship 15mtpa of LNG to Asia, using gas from the US Permian Basin, CEO Ivan Van der Walt said in the statement.
  • The agreement follows a deal from late last year, under which Exxon signed to purchase around 2mtpa from the facility’s first two LNG trains.
  • Last year, Conoco Phillips and Woodside Energy signed agreements to purchase LNG from the facility.
