Mexico Pulling in Surging Chinese Gasoline Volumes August

Mexico is set to pull in ~231k tons of gasoline from China in August, the highest monthly volume in data going back to 2017 according to Kpler.

  • Volumes are at nearly double July’s.
  • Mexico’s overall gasoline imports in August are set for a 13-month high of more than 1.8 million tons – most of which is coming from the US.
  • Mexico is trying to increase domestic runs to be self sufficient for oil products but runs are well below expectations.
