REFINING

Mexico’s Pemex imported 11% more gasoline in May than the month prior, a further indication of AMLO’s lack of ability to reduce his countries reliance on imports.

  • Mexico refined 267,000 barrels per day of gasoline in May, a 10% decrease from the previous month.
  • A Reuters source said on Monday that in the most optimistic scenario the first of two production lines of the Dos Bocas refinery would be ready between October and November.
  • It had reported that progress had been exaggerated towards the end of AMLO’s tenure as president.
