MIDTERMS: Debates To Follow In The Coming Week

US
  • Monday: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) will face off against former Republican Gov. Charlie Crist.
    • DeSantis is looking for a decisive victory over Crist to bolster his national credentials ahead of potential 2024 presidential run. His strong performance during hurricane Ian helped overcome a period of poor press for his role in a stunt to transport migrants to Democrat jurisdictions.
  • Tuesday: Pennsylvania’s Lt. Gov. John Fetterman to face Trump-endorsed Dr Mehmet Oz in their only debate of the cycle.
    • Fetterman’s performance will be closely scrutinised following pointed questions from Oz over his suitability for office after suffering a stroke in May. The race is a tossup with Oz making inroads accusing Fetterman of being soft on crime and too liberal for Pennsylvania.
  • Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO) will face Republican Joe O’Dea in an unexpectedly close Colorado race. Former President Donald Trump made headlines by suggesting “MAGA” Republicans shouldn’t vote for O'Dea.
  • Thursday: Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) will debate Republican Don Bolduc. Hassan is favoured to retain her seat after Democrats took the unusual of boosting Bolduc’s primary race believing his views would make him too radical for New Hampshire voters.
