News24 reports that "the ANC's caucus heard firm opposition to a decision that it's members of Parliament should not vote to adopt the Section 89 panel report on Tuesday," with Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Tourism Minister Lindiwe Sisulu leading the charge against discipline in the upcoming parliamentary vote on the Section 89 panel report.

  • "The ministers told the caucus that the threat to discipline them should they vote in support of the adoption of the report is unconstitutional," News24 reports flagging that the meeting of party caucus was "heated and tense."
  • The news outlet earlier cited Cyril Ramaphosa's main rival in the ANC leadership race Zweli Mkhize as noting that lawmakers should be allowed to vote as they please, while deciding on whether to launch impeachment proceedings against the President.
