Mixed After Recovering Early Losses

EQUITIES

Equities have pared early losses in the European session and are currently trading mixed.

  • Asian stocks closed mostly weaker, with Japan's NIKKEI down 5.91 pts or -0.03% at 23290.86 and the TOPIX down 0.75 pts or -0.05% at 1624.48. China's SHANGHAI closed down 43.839 pts or -1.3% at 3329.739 and the HANG SENG ended 5.57 pts higher or +0.02% at 25491.79.
  • European equities are broadly stronger, with the German Dax up 73.04 pts or +0.56% at 13135.87, FTSE 100 down 2.76 pts or -0.05% at 6034.69, CAC 40 up 15.74 pts or +0.31% at 5024.08 and Euro Stoxx 50 up 11.99 pts or +0.36% at 3341.84.
  • U.S. futures are trading mixed, with the Dow Jones mini down 34 pts or -0.12% at 28161, S&P 500 mini up 1.5 pts or +0.04% at 3444.5, NASDAQ mini up 36.5 pts or +0.31% at 11763.
