Mixed Performance In Asia

EQUITIES

Regional equity trade was mixed during Asia-Pac hours, with the Nikkei 225 benefitting from the positive lead from Wall St. and a modest uptick in the USD/JPY since Tokyo closed for business on Wednesday. The ASX 200 was also bid, with the financial and real estate sectors leading the charge.

  • Chinese & Hong Kong indices were negative, with Sino-U.S. tensions continuing to draw attention, although we still haven't reached the point of no return on that front.
  • Nikkei 225 +1.3%, Hang Seng -0.4%, CSI 300 -0.1%, ASX 200 +0.8%.
  • S&P 500 futures -3, DJIA futures -6, NASDAQ 100 futures -21.
