Mixed, With Macro Headline Flow Lacking

EQUITIES

E-minis ticked higher in Asia-Pac hours, extending on their Wall St. rally, with some background focus on positive musings re: COVID-19 vaccine matters, although, as has become the norm, there was little in the way of tangible advances.

  • The major regional indices were a little more mixed. The ASX 200 rebounded sharply after yesterday's underperformance, with the communications and materials sectors leading the charge. China & Hong Kong underperformed, as the Sino-U.S. sabre rattling continues, although there was little in the way of meaningful developments on that front.
  • Nikkei 225% +0.3%, CSI 300 -0.2%, Hang Seng -0.8%, ASX 200 +1.7%.
  • S&P 500 futures +7, DJIA futures +38, NASDAQ 100 futures +65.
