AUSSIE 3-YR TECHS: (U17) Layers of Resistance 98.041-130
*RES 4: 98.090 - High Aug 4
*RES 3: 98.068 - 200-DMA
*RES 2: 98.063 - 55-DMA
*RES 1: 98.041 - 21-DMA
*PRICE: 98.020 @ 2130GMT
*SUP 1: 98.001 - Bollinger band base
*SUP 2: 97.990 - Low Aug 23
*SUP 3: 97.980 - Alternating daily support/resistance
*SUP 4: 97.940 - Low July 26
*COMMENTARY: The break of the 98.000 support Wednesday lacked follow through
with the contract bouncing from ahead of the 97.980 support. Bears look for a
close below 97.980 to add weight to the case for a move back to 97.810-860.
Narrowing Bollinger bands remain suggestive of a break out. Bulls now look for a
close above the 21-DMA to ease bearish pressure and above 98.090 to initially
target 98.127-130.
AUSSIE 10-YR TECHS: (U17) 97.3150 Support Remains Key
*RES 4: 97.4606 - 55-WMA
*RES 3: 97.4450 - High June 30
*RES 2: 97.4250 - High Aug 18
*RES 1: 97.3900 - High Aug 2
*PRICE: 97.3600 @ 2130GMT
*SUP 1: 97.3176 - 200-DMA
*SUP 2: 97.3150 - Low Aug 15
*SUP 3: 97.2914 - Bollinger band base
*SUP 4: 97.2500 - Low July 27
*COMMENTARY: The 97.3150 support confirmed significance having stalled the
correction lower from 55 & 100-DMA failures. Bears need a close below 97.3150 to
confirm breaks of 21 (97.3521) & 200 DMAs and below 97.1650 to confirm focus on
tests of 96.9800-97.0600 where 2017 lows are located. Bulls look for a close
above 97.4450 to hint at a move back to 97.6100-6750 with above the 55-WMA to
confirm.
US 10-YR FUTURE TECHS: Bears Need Close Below 126-200
*RES 4: 127-080 - Monthly High June 14
*RES 3: 127-070 - 200-WMA
*RES 2: 127-010 - High Aug 18, Bollinger band top
*RES 1: 126-300 - High Aug 23
*PRICE: 126-220 @ 2130GMT
*SUP 1: 126-200 - Hourly resistance Aug 22 now support
*SUP 2: 126-160 - Low Aug 23
*SUP 3: 126-120 - 21-DMA
*SUP 4: 126-110 - Low Aug 17
*COMMENTARY: Bears failed to capitalise on Tuesday's sell-off with the
aggressive rally and bullish close retaining immediate focus on 127-010/120
where June highs and the bull channel top are located. Layers of support remain,
adding support to the bullish case. Bears need a close below 126-200 to ease
bullish pressure and return focus to layers of support 126-050-160 where the 21
& 55-DMAs & bull channel base are located.
US 10-YR YIELD TECHS: Focus Remains on 2017 Low
*RES 4: 2.264 - Hourly support Aug 16 now resistance
*RES 3: 2.250 - Alternating hourly support/resistance
*RES 2: 2.229 - Hourly resistance Aug 17
*RES 1: 2.206 - Hourly support Aug 23 now resistance
*PRICE: 2.196 @ 2130GMT
*SUP 1: 2.173 - Low Aug 24
*SUP 2: 2.164 - Low Aug 18
*SUP 3: 2.156 - Bollinger band base
*SUP 4: 2.121 - Low June 26
*COMMENTARY: Failure ahead of the 2.229 resistance added to the significance of
this level and resulted in bears remaining focused on tests of 2017 lows. A
close below 2.103 is needed to shift immediate bearish focus to the 100-WMA
(2.053) and overall focus to tests of 1.879. The 2.229 resistance remains key
with bulls needing a close above to ease bearish pressure and above 2.264 to
shift initial focus back to 2.289.
JGB TECHS: (U17) 150.66-84 Support Region Key
*RES 4: 151.21 - 2017 High Apr 17 & 20
*RES 3: 151.08 - High May 1
*RES 2: 151.01 - High Aug 24
*RES 1: 151.00 - Bollinger Band top
*PRICE: 150.96 @ 2130GMT
*SUP 1: 150.84 - High Aug 18 now support
*SUP 2: 150.66 - Low Aug 23
*SUP 3: 150.57 - Low Aug 17
*SUP 4: 150.52 -100-DMA
*COMMENTARY: Bulls now focus on 2017 highs following Thursday's gains as layers
of support continue to accumulate. Daily studies remain at very O/B levels and
the Bollinger top is limiting follow through. In saying that, bears now need a
close below 150.84 to ease bullish pressure and below 150.66 to shift focus back
to DMAs clustered 150.32-52. Bulls look for a close above 2017 highs to shift
initial focus to 151.59.
