MNI: Biden Taps Powell for Fed Chair, Brainard for Vice Chair

(MNI) Washington

The White House Monday said President Joe Biden intends to nominate Jerome Powell for another four-year term as Chair of the Federal Reserve and Lael Brainard as the next Vice Chair.

President Biden still has three vacant seats on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors to fill, including the position of Vice Chair for Supervision. "The President intends to make those appointments beginning in early December, and is committed to improving the diversity in the Board's composition," a White House statement said.
