MNI: BNP Paribas suggest that "financial markets are sending signals that should
not be overlooked. Traditional economic indicators may not be the first sign
that the turn of the cycle is near. Tighter financial conditions suggest that
there may be more going on than economic indicators suggest. Economic activity
may still hold up in 2018 with tax-induced spending and investment in the US and
a bounce-back after a lull in the eurozone and Japan. The recent turn in
financial markets could be a step back to more 'normal' levels, but we worry
that the signal is stronger that a further tightening in conditions is ahead."
