MNI BRIEF: Banks Can Profit From Post-Covid Reforms - Enria

The Covid-19 pandemic shock has extended the timeframe for a normalisation of interest rates and with them a restoration of bank profits, ECB Supervisory Board chair Andrea Enria said in a speech Wednesday.

However, he added, it has also created the conditions for a radical structural revamp and enhanced cost efficiency, amid evidence some banks are finally refocusing their business models towards longer-term value creation opportunities.
