It is important for the Bank of Japan to keep yield curve at a low level now as the economy is suffering from coronavirus, Deputy Governor Masayoshi Amamiya said Monday, underlining comments from Governor Haruhiko Kuroda on Friday.
But he also said in Q&A session, "My view is that it is appropriate for interest rates to move flexibly under the yield curve control if they don't damage the impact of easy policy, although it is undesirable for longer-end bond yields to drop sharply.
