MNI BRIEF: Bank of Korea Pauses On Rates At 1.25%

TOKYO (MNI)

The Bank of Korea as expected left its policy interest rate unchanged at 1.25%, Yonhap news agency and other news agencies reported on Thursday.

Lingering concern over high inflation rate and housing prices continue to pressure the bank to raise the policy rate in the coming months, see: MNI STATE OF PLAY: Inflation Dip Allows Bank Of Korea A Pause.

Bank officials are paying attention to the impact of a likely rate hike by the U.S. Federal Reserve on global financial markets. The next meeting is scheduled on April 14.
