MNI BRIEF: Brazil's January Revenue Surprisingly Good - Haddad

Brazilian government revenues were surprisingly good in January, Finance Minister Fernando Haddad said on Tuesday, adding that lower interest rates were fueling optimism over the economic outlook for this year.
"The government's revenue last month was very good, it was quite surprising. We will break it down to understand what is what, and we will release the numbers after Carnival," the minister anticipated at an event sponsored by BTG Pactual. The official data will be released at the end of February.
