Germany's financial system has coped well with the early phases of the Covid-19 crisis, helped by the extensive measures taken by governments and central banks looking to stabilize financial and labour markets, Deutsche Bundesank VP Claudia Buch said Tuesday.

However, she warned the next stage of the pandemic would likely see insolvencies in the corporate sector increase, which requires sufficient preparation and banks should make use of their capital buffers to mitigate.
