MNI BRIEF: Systemic Bullying Claims Untrue - SNB's Steiner

(MNI) LONDON
FRANKFURT (MNI)

Allegations of systemic bullying, discrimination and sexism at the Swiss National Bank are untrue, President of the Bank Council Barbara Janom Steiner said Friday. An examination of all such cases reported since 2015 was carried out in recent months following reports in October 2020, Steiner said.

Such incidents were found to be "few in number" and "none was of a serious nature. They were also very diverse and followed no regular pattern."

Any indications of misconduct by SNB staff are taken seriously and sanctions imposed "where appropriate," she said, with the bank was nevertheless carrying out a review of its HR reporting, hiring, salary-setting and promotion processes.
