MNI BRIEF: China Consumers Optimistic On 2024 Household Income

China’s consumers believe finances will improve this year, with 83.5% of surveyed participants expecting stable or better household income, survey results from the China Consumers Association showed on Thursday.

A data breakdown revealed 22.0% of respondents anticipate a considerable income improvement, 34.2% foresee a moderate increase, 27.3% expect stability, and 15.1% anticipate a decrease. Should the government give cash subsidies, 34.8% of respondents would prioritise saving, 28.0% for consumption, 20.6% for investment, 10.8% for debt repayment, while 3.3% were undecided.
