MNI BRIEF: China Daily Steel Output Highest Since Aug 2023

MNI (Beijing)

China’s daily crude steel production reached 2.19 million tonnes for April, up 3.8% m/m but down 0.33% y/y, the China Iron and Steel Association said on Thursday.

April’s daily output marks the highest level since August 2023, according to data provider Wind.

Chinese demand for steel and copper construction products will fall over the second half despite government support measures, while appetite for those commodities used in manufacturing will grow as industrial output strengthens, local researchers have recently told MNI.
