MNI BRIEF: China Still Facing Downward Export Pressure - GAC

China faces further downward pressure on exports in 2023 due to the volatile external environment, a spokesperson from the General Administration Of Customs said Friday. However, China’s economy is on an upward trajectory despite foreign trade difficulties, due to its strong fundamentals remaining unchanged.

During 2022, the export sector showed resilience and performed well, and this will provide a solid underpinning to further development. Looking forward, China will further advance trade with its ASEAN and RCEP regional partners, the spokesperson said.
