MNI BRIEF: China, US Should Strengthen Dialogue, Cooperation
China and the U.S. should strengthen dialogue, manage differences and advance cooperation, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during his meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Beijing on Friday, as there are still issues to be addressed which require further efforts
Xi said Beijing hopes the U.S. can look at China's development in a positive light, which is a fundamental issue to be addressed before the bilateral relationship can truly stabilise and move forward, said Xi, according to a press release sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The U.S. should stop hyping up the false narrative of "China's overcapacity theory", lift illegal sanctions on Chinese companies, and stop imposing Section 301 tariffs that violate WTO rules, said Foreign Minister Wang Yi during his meeting with Blinken on the same day.
