MNI BRIEF: ECB Appoints New Head of International Relations

(MNI) Frankfurt

The European Central Bank has appointed Isabel Vansteenkiste as Director General International and European Relations, replacing Hans-Joachim Klocker, who is to retire at the end of October after 23 years at the ECB. Vansteenkiste is currently Deputy Director General Monetary Policy.

She previously held the position of Deputy Director General Economics, having held various managerial positions after joining the ECB as an economist in 2002.
