MNI BRIEF: ECB Boosts PEPP By EUR500 Bn​​​, Rates On Hold

LONDON (MNI)

The European Central Bank boosted the purchasing power of the Pandemic Emergency Purchase Program by EUR500 billion to an upper envelope of E1.85 trillion, extending the duration to the end of March 2022. The central bank left rates unchanged, with the deposit rate at -0.5%, in line with the MNI preview and sources story.

The ECB also extended the duration of its TLTRO 3 to which favorable terms are extended by a further 12 months through to June 2022.
