MNI (BRUSSELS) - EU member state trade mnisters will have an initial exchange of views on how to approach the incoming US Trump administration in Brussels on Thursday next week, officials say.
One senior diplomat said the Hungary-chaired talks would be "an exchange of views about what we could expect", but added "it's not yet time to discuss potential measures or steps," ans that there would be "a number of discussions in coming weeks where we will try to understand better the objectives and plans of the US administration."
Donald Trump has threatened to impose 20% tariffs on EU exports to the US and the question of if and how the EU might retaliate to such a move remains open.
